Just shoe It Folks!

by USO

February 12, 2012

You know, how we always have those pair of shoes, ones which are so durable, so black, so flat and so sturdy that we can wear it to the end of the world and back but they would never ever wear out. We could pass them as an heirloom to our great grandchildren. Every time we think we want to discard them we smartly go ahead and buy a similar pair.  They become so embarrassingly comfortable that we are afraid of trying anything drastically different.  After all, that old leather has weathered so many hail storms of our lives that over time they have become befittingly our own.  So, even though we want to slip into those six inches freakin’ fabulous heels, we deeply fear the pinching hurt, the sudden trip, the carless fall…..and true enough no sooner we step into the new strikingly different pair we are dying to slip back into the old black comfortable pair.

Well, similarly our lives are full of good and not so good experiences, the ones that are personal are the ones that sit deep within, just like that pair of everlasting black ugly shoes, we can do a ‘Jab We Met’ and try and flush down the bitter memories, but what were you thinking folks, they will never leave you. They will find a way to make those special appearances, just in time when we are about to try something similar yet different. The brain promptly alludes to those miseries apparently forgotten and we live to regret them and question ourselves ‘why did we?’….I often question that feeling….and ask myself, ‘Why regret anything we do, because at one point that is exactly what our heart prompted us and our head justified for us to do.’ I am not trying to sound like some awful banshee! But I feel in today’s fast paced life, we are merely surviving everyday thinking of what we should have done differently in the past and caught in the juggernaut of ‘what if’ and ‘why’  we forget the present moment is slipping away. We are so cautious that we become risk averse and fear attempting anything new or challenging the normal.

More-over even Shaw said: ‘What is Life but a series of Inspired Follies’…… what we are today is exactly because of the so called ‘mistakes’ we committed, the tears we shed and the pain we endured.  Every little detail of our past life reflects in the sparkle of our eyes and the every grey strand of our hair. It’s easy for us to accept the few things happily that we may ignorantly call ‘regrets’ because if we had not done those things, we wouldn’t be where we are today. If at all we should regret, it should be all that we wanted to do and ‘we didn’t’ only because we were afraid or just being reasonable!

Someone said- ‘Live life from your core, listen to your heart and follow your instincts’, go ahead take a risk, let your heart and your reasoning get into a head on collision. Life is all about getting out there and putting on the bright red stilettos in the rain, yes, uncomfortable it may be impractical it is but whoever said trying something new is easy!  But one thing for sure, we will walk different, feel different and that old pair may still be peeping at us from the cupboard……just in case……only to  run into the future…….but never to take a stroll in the past.

I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both
educative and amusing, and without a doubt, you have hit
the nail on the head. The issue is something that not enough men and women are speaking
intelligently about. I am very happy I stumbled across this in my search
    for something relating to this.

I’ve been browsing on-line more than three hours these days, but I by no
means found any attention-grabbing article like
yours. It’s beautiful value enough for me. Personally, if
all webmasters and bloggers made excellent content material as you did,
the internet will likely be much more helpful than ever before.

Howdy fantastic blog! Does running a blog similar to this require a massive
amount work? I have absolutely no knowledge of computer programming but
I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyways, should you have any suggestions or techniques
for new blog owners please share. I understand this is
off topic but I just had to ask. Thanks!

The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see
if it can survive a 25 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.
My apple ipad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is totally
off topic but I had to share it with someone!
